ePrescription is a enterprise-class solution used by medical
professionals (e. g., doctors) to dispatch prescription
records to selected pharmacies using the Internet. It utilizes
messaging standards defined by SureScripts.
SureScripts was founded in 2001 by the National
Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) and the National
Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA) to improve
the quality, safety, and efficiency of the overall prescribing
process. The SureScripts Electronic Prescribing Network
is the largest network to link electronic communications
between pharmacies and physicians, allowing the electronic
exchange of prescription information.
This solution utilizes Web services, open source database
and Java/Swing. The client application is delivered to end
users using Apsora's on-demand application streaming technology.
In a future release, this solution will include additional
features such as Drug Dependency Analysis using other 3rd
party web services.
This application utilizes many capabilities of the next
generation Internet to provide benefits to medical professionals,
pharmacies and, not but not the least, patients. It saves
time, money and alleviates costly errors that sometime occur
when prescriptions are not processed as intended.
Following are a few screen captures of this application.
