Bentara is a enterprise-class software solution, used by a non-profit agency to assist youths in need of financial and other matters.

CHALLENGE: The customer had a pressing need to quickly build an Internet-based management tool. Non-profit resource centers needed a simple but powerful application for the intake, reporting and tracking of information relating to the assistance requirements of needy youths.

SOLUTION: Bentara, an Internet-based automated information management system was developed and installed for the customer. Bentara allows users to easily track intake and exit activities such as entering client information into the systrem, admitting participants into programs and recording client discharges. Users can also verify program eligibility, consult information and referral service directories and record client'd moves among agencies and programs.

RESULTS: Information accuracy, immediate accessibily and flow between agencies is greatly improved. Community resources are better utilized and the agency's clients more easily helped. Agency resources are greatly leveraged.

SOLUTION ARCHITECTURE: Utilizes Web services and open source database engine to maintain persistent data. Client is implemented entirely in Java/Swing and streamed on demand to end users' computer from a centrally monitored host.
